Biography: As an adult, I lived and explored Northern California with my son, Randy, drove cross-country and worked for a resort developer, overseeing properties in Texas, West Virginia and elsewhere. Later, after marrying husband, Mark, I attended many conventions and conferences with him and organized shopping tours and sightseeing for the attendees’ spouses, who otherwise sat around the conference hotel all day. The National Conference of Insurance Legislators asked me to organize and conduct their spousal tours on a more formal basis, and a career in travel was born. Joining forces with successful travel agents in Charleston, SC, I went out on my own a few years later and was recruited by Travel Experts, one of the country’s leading agencies and Virtuoso, the premier high-end travel network, to work through them. I now plan adventures for clients all over the world, on ships, river boats and barges, by train car, bicycle and horseback and sometimes by just relaxing at a villa in Italy, a castle in Ireland or a resort in the Caribbean. I earned the Master Cruise Counselor designation from the Cruise Line Industry Association and ran the South Carolina Education Lottery’s cruise-prize program. I have made friends and contacts with travel providers around the world and have a vast array of Virtuoso-approved properties and tour operators to call on. I have won accolades from clients such as •“You were fantastic! We loved the whole experience.” (N.C., Washingtonville, NY, Baltic Sea Cruise and St. Petersburg excursion); •“You always do great. We just need to find when we can cruise again. You are the one!” (R.P., Seattle WA, Mexican Riviera cruise); •“Sandy listened to our itinerary “wants” and found a fabulous package… much cheaper than if we had travelled on our own. Her answers to all our questions were prompt and clear.” (M-C. D., Charleston, SC, Egypt tour and Nile River cruise). •January 3, 2014 - Sandy Feldman is the best travel agent I have had in the 75 years of my life. She is conscientious, thoughtful and very thorough. I would strongly recommend her and my family will always use her. (C. Barnhill, Charleston) hotels
As a young girl, I loved adventure and exploration. Whether it was playing in a tree house on my family farm, climbing oyster-shell piles along the Intracoastal Waterway, or just riding my bike beyond the permitted boundaries, I was always looking over the next hill to discover what was there.
Some of my favorite places that I have traveled are Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Venice, Paris, and too many other wonderful places to list.
I love to hear from fellow travelers! Have a question about some of my recent trips? Want to share some travel tips, or have a question? Drop me a line!
